Harris County TBRI® Collaborative

Harris County TBRI® Collaborative

Develop skills to offer compassionate, trauma-informed care to children and families.

It all starts with connection.

When a child experiences trauma, loss, or abuse, their ability to trust is impacted. In order to repair trust, we must see the need behind a child's behavior and respond in a way that considers their developmental and emotional capacity.

Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®) is a research-based and relationship-focused framework for helping children heal from complex trauma. Through our training, you can learn practical tools to help meet the needs of vulnerable children and families

TBRI® is for everyone.

TBRI® is used worldwide in homes, residential facilities, group homes, schools, camps, juvenile justice facilities, courts, faith communities, law enforcement, clinical practices and beyond.

Wherever children are cared for, TBRI® can help.

We're committed to families and children in Harris County and beyond.

We started the Harris County TBRI® Collaborative because we saw a need for more accessible trauma-informed training in Houston.

Our training brings together TBRI® Practitioners who work in a variety of professional spaces such as juvenile justice, human trafficking, residential programs, therapeutic practices, and more.

We believe that healing from trauma happens in the context of a loving and stable relationship. Through the Harris County TBRI® Collaborative, we want to see our city saturated with professionals and caregivers better equipped to meet the needs of vulnerable children and families.

See what TBRI® Collaborative Participants are saying.

Thanks to TBRI® training, I’ve been able to better understand why trauma appears a certain way in a child who may not be able to put their frustrations or stressors into words, and this training made me realize that TBRI® practices are effective not only for professionals who work in the field, but also for everyday individuals who simply want to understand, learn more, and make a difference.

TBRI® training is a deeply personal journey that has reshaped the way I understand connection, trust, and healing. It has challenged me to grow not just as a mother and friend, but as a person committed to showing up with empathy and intention to everyone I meet.

Learning Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI®) has transformed how I approach relationships, both personally and professionally. It opened my eyes to the deep impact trauma has on brain development and attachment while equipping me with practical tools to respond with greater empathy, connection, and understanding.
